Call for Papers – 9th Junior Workshop of the German Association for British Studies (AGF)

Date: 14-15 May, 2020
Venue: Centre for British Studies, Mohrenstraße 60, 10117 Berlin
Convenor: German Association for British Studies (AGF)
CfP-Deadline: March 6 2020
In times of a fundamental geopolitical reorientation of the United Kingdom, we need research that scrutinises simple truths and investigates the complex character of past and present events and actors. Therefore, we revive the tradition of
the Junior Workshop at the Annual Conference of the German Association for British Studies (AGF). The Centre for British Studies at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin will host the ninth AGF Junior Workshop on May 14 and 15, 2020. The workshop provides an opportunity for M.A.-students, graduate students and Post-Docs working on the history of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth or the British Empire to present their current research projects and discuss them with other experts. Contributions from all epochs and disciplines are welcome. AGF membership is not required. Workshop participants are welcome to join the AGF Conference “The Politics of Old Age: Old People and Ageing in British and European History” right after the Junior Workshop. Unfortunately, we are not able to cover any travel or accommodation expenses. But the organisers are happy to help you find accommodation. Please send a one-page proposal for a 20-minute presentation in English or German along with a brief academic CV to juniorworkshopagf@gmail.com. The deadline for proposals is March 6, 2020. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
