The Freigeist Research Group “The London Moment” offers a

PhD position “Experts in exile” (m/f/d)

(E 13 TV-L, 65%), limited to three years.

The aim is to investigate the project “Experts in Exile”. The project will investigate how financial experts from occupied European countries represented in London during the Second World War advised their governments in exile, exchanged knowledge, networked, worked in think tanks, and strived for new European post-war planning. The concrete project as well as the selection of the persons to be studied is to be determined (in consultation) by the person to be hired and can, for example, focus on knowledge transfer, historical network analysis or biographical foci. Previous experience in the history of knowledge or economics is welcome, but not required.
